I have a question that dove-tails on this question...

I have had my 2001 X5 for 4 months (Aug. 06 - Nov. 06) and I have had to replace each fog light/fog lamp twice! When I replaced them, they had H3, so I replaced them with H3. Could the problem be the wrong bulb?

Just curious...do you have headlight washers?

Yes, I do have headlight washers. The last time I changed the driver's side fog lights, I noticed a plastic piece busted. It's U or L shaped that connects a hose to the washer. Do you think that may be the source of the problem? Have you had a similar experience?

Yep, seems like one of my headlight washer hoses was loose and I think it had something to do with my fogs burning out on that side (I've been through 4 fogs in two years, all on the same side). I'm not certain about it, but it's an awful strange coincidence.
