3 Alldata questions Need help please

#1 Does BMW provide the information found on Alldata.com?

#2 Does BMW provide the dealerships with that information?

#3 Is there a way to know BMW has provided dealerships with?
Updated Alldata information.

For example: This BMW TSB Indicates that software programming is sometime required as part of accessory installations and is covered under the new Vehicle warranty. However if you go to a dealer and need to get your car programmed for let's say a CD changer in an E60 the dealer will try to charge you $300.00 to program the car when in fact they should only charge you 1/2 hour for coding rather than programing. http://www.alldata.com/tsb/BMW/11596...906/10906.html

Here's the story:

I decided to get the iPod interface for the E60. It was a relatively easy installation for me but without the changer already installed the car has to be coded to recognize the CD changer. (what it does is recognize the iPod interface because it’s fooled into thinking there a CD changer).

But here the rub. To get the car coded the dealer want’s about $300.00 because they say they have to program the car, which can take all day. This has to be done before they code for the CD Changer. I believe this is the correct procedure based on alldata TSB information.

My question is this: can bringing your car up to date with programming be done under warranty? This bulletin from alldata http://www.alldata.com/tsb/BMW/11596...906/10906.html seems to indicate that it is covered under warranty which means that the only thing left is coding the car, which takes about 30mins and would not cost $300.00. However dealerships seem to be ignorant about information which requires them to perform a service under warranty conditions. They say "we haven't heard about that or some other cop out.

Wish i knew a way to verify Alldata information with the dealer. Anyone know how to get the stealers attention regarding this matter??
