Skid plate

My skid plate just arrived at my friend's place. He still has to ship it to me. He sent me a picture and it's colored silver already. Does this need to be painted?

I want it in silver, i've seend a lot of people in this forum having the silver skid plates. Did you guys paint it again?

I believe the silver is just primer - but not 100% sure. You'll be able to tell by looking at it when you see it in person. I'm sure someone else here can answer for sure...

The skid plate comes in a light gray color ready to paint. Meaning you don't have to prepare the surface prior. I got one and painted it with special primer so the paint would really stick to that plastic, added a few coats of the paint followed by the clear-coat. I spent less than $10 using "Dupli-Color" brand spray paint from the local auto parts. So far, the paint has held on very well without any peels or chips. My X is black but instead of painting the skid plate to match the vehicle color, I matched it up to the color of my grill and hood titanium vents. But heck, if you're happy with the color as is, then no need to paint it.

is there anyway to make the skid plate look like a metal skid plate? like those being used in the cayenne?
