Battery question

been having some probs with the battery fully discharging overnight...tried a variety of things think i sorted it. my question is should the battery on my '01 X5 3.0 loose voltage if left standing over a couple of days... it seems to be shutting down as it should but i have measured a volt drop 12.22 to 11.97 volts on the battery. the battery was new not bmw but bosch 100ah but has had at least one total discharge that i am aware of (maybe two or three while the garage was looking at it). am i getting concerned for no reason any help would be appreciated

When you say "left standing for a couple of days", do you mean the battery is disconnected from the car with nothing physically connected to it ?
Or do you mean the car left parked with the battery connected but not moving the car for a couple of days ?

the battery is connected and the car is not moved or started for a couple of days... it has drained the battery overnight before..having read on this forum it could be the FSR i have disconnected this and was taking readings every so often since i fully charged the battery with everything connected back up. what i need to know is have i found the problem or is something else still slowly draining the system

from what i remember reading a long time ago, battery drainage is notorious in the X5 if car is not started often (ex: not started for a few days etc.) so it might be normal for you to get the reading of lower voltage

i don't know much about the specs of the bosch battery, but it should at least have same specs as oem

here's specs of most common aftermarket battery for X5 and 3 series bmws in the US,
Duralast 49-DL perfect fit (don't go by store computer, they don't have it listed under X5 or 3 series) better than OEM, more powerful
and only $65

Duralast 49-DL
Specs:
Cranking amps 1000
Cold cranking amps 850
Reserve capacity minutes 150
Vent hose included
