Replacing CV Boot

I'm replacing outer CV Boot on '02 X5 3.0. I tried to break loose the lock nut on the spindle with a 36mm socket but, it just slipped. Does anyone know the size this lock nut? 35 mm? 34 mm? Just want to purchase one.

Any other recommendations in changing CV Boot greatly appreciated. Thanks! Joe
