According to Autotrader 2 weeks ago there were 5 new 06 4.8s within 200 mi. of 20176 and now there are 0. Could it be that others had the same impression.

Or was the price too good to pass up?

The FX45 was bone jarring enough so the SRT was out of the running.

Did not test drive any X5 with 20" wheels for the same reason. The 06 4.4 is just right, especially on PA roads.

The mpg is much better on the 4.4 ( 21 highway) compared to the FX45 (16).

What is the mileage like on your 4.8?

Before the SRT I had an 05 FX. The ride on the 20's on my 4.8 is way better than the ride on the 20's on the FX. The suspension is night and day between the two. The BMW soaks up bumps very nicely.

As far as gas milage, the SRT was getting between 9-14, the BMW is getting between 16-20.

I could not get above 11.5 mpg in the SRT8. I was at the gas station 2x a day! I hope I do much better in the X5.

Yeah, when people would ask what MPH I got with the SRT, I would often say 30-40 ........................... then pause for 2 seconds............... "yards" to the gallon! LOL .. The looks on their faces was priceless... Then they asked, no seriously how much........... and I would say, "I am serious.." .... The look on my face at this point was priceless..
