The car in the background is an E9 BMW (1969-1975) which included the 2800CS, 2.5CS, 3.0CS, 3.0CSi, and 3.0CSL models.

The CSL was an important car in BMW's history; it was the first model produced by the M division. The production numbers were:
2800CS - 9399
2.5CS - 844
3.0CS - 20303 (including 1265 CSL's)
