Is it something to be very wary about? I plan on taking in the X for its 15000 mile service for the free oil change (i did one at 7500 at home). Can I wait. I havent received any error messages.

Very unlikely to be a CV joint at that mileage. CV joint last very long if kept greased properly. I would rather suspect a tie rod issue.
