Angry Unwanted Gift From Santa !!!!

On my way home from work Christmas night ( yeah I have to work ) . service engine soon warning light went on and follow with massage Trans. fail . lucky for me that I am not too far from home. get the car home safe that night but when I slow down at the light , the trans. downshift hard and also upshift too. call the guy at stealer next morning to bring it in . the forman test drive with me and he said there are some thing wrong with the trans. ( no kidding right ? ) that he have to keep the car and gift me the loaner for today. he will call and let me know tomorrow . by the way I just have the trans. sofware update somtime this summer. oh my car is 2003 3.0I with 36 k on it.

36k is quite low for something to go wrong with your transmission ... I hope you're still covered under warranty, unless you have an early build 03 ... good luck and hope everything gets fixed soon!

Yeah I think 36k is too low for trans. to go bad but who know?. my car was build in july of 2003. I think it cover under manufactore warranty , I will post up date as soon as the stealer call .( some time today )

I had a similar experience where the CEL dsc abs light all went on along with the trans failsafe msg coming on. My tranny was shifting hard and wouldn't shift above 2k rpm and the car died and couldn't be started. Turns out it was the alternator at 39k miles.

Just pick my car up at stealer today, turn out it was not a trans. problem . it was a mass air flow sensor go bad. that cause the trans go to fail safe mode. they replace the sensor ( n/c ) and clear the code. car run ok for now.

Good to hear that it's fixed. It seems that most problems will trigger the Trans. Failsafe MSG.
