The X5 is a earlier year, so I'd assume those are some kind of angel eyes that the person put had installed. But then again, wait for more posts because people on this website know their sh*t. I'm sure you'll find out soon...

Do a search for "angel eyes" and "AE" and you will find a wealth of information on your desired project and you will find out that it doesn't have to cost you a fortune. I assume you are looking for pre-2004 headlights. To be sure, what year is your X5?

A comment: The pictures show a very nicely finished turn signal with the ambers removed. I like how the reflector is repainted and the type of bulb used. I have always thought that leaving the mirrored reflector and the stock bulb after removing the amber lenses looked unfinished.

They are CCFL Angel Eyes, go to http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2077129. This person's X5 has a list of mods, that was one that was listed.

Guys you are wonderful...But Kevin noticed immediately about the detail which I like very much - TURN LIGHT...it's not like others...seems it's not even CCFL Angel Eyes

It looks like to me that, the turn signal was sprayed black and then the e39 repeaters where modded in. The turn signals are very similar to what was on my 01 E39 M5.
