Anyone think the E53 looks better than the E70: Poll

Bnz2bimmer, sorry for hijacking the thread you posted but I thought it would be a great poll.

So let's have some opinions. Do you like the looks of the E53 or the E70?

E53 ... although the E70 is growing on me a little .. I guess it's going to be like the E65/66 and the E60 for me, the more I see them, the more I'm going to like it.

Anything with taillights that hideous won't grow on me. What's with BMW and "all-red" taillights? Very bland IMO.

Personally I do not like the direction BMW is going with their styling. I cannot stand the Z4. A guy I work with got a new 330 with the twin turbo engine..... the thing looks like a Civic!!!!! I must admit the M5 is hot and the M6 is certainly growing on me.

If corporate has their ears on... Stop the presses!!! Fire your design team!!

They are broth great. People need to get over it.

Stop justifying your own E53 purchase by putting down the E70. Why can't people just accept the design for what it is. Lets all get along !

Need I remind you that it is the same design team that came up with the E53 as-well as the E46. Bangle drew the first sketches of the E53 himself, which ended up being pretty much a carbon copy of his original sketches (minus the spare tire mounted on the vehicles trunk).

I hope E70 is just a mule for something unbelievably great that BMW is gonna reveil to us at some point in the future. Even third row does not help dealers move the vehicle the same way it was flying off the shelves in 1999.

While I agree we should let the comparisons go after the third "who likes what" thread, I don't agree that it is some sort of E70 envy for most E53 owners. The E70 IMO takes the X in a different direction, mainly do to new breeds of competition for the Japanese and, well some German rides. The E70 to me looks like it is trying to knock the Lexus and Acura out of competition in the SUV market. Both have very limited space for SUV's as compared to USA SUV's, and both focus more on refinement and handling vice actual space and usability. I already have posted my IMO in yet another comparison thread so I will not go into all that again.

Final word, both are beautiful SUV's, but..IMO designed for different buyers.

I also think the new X shares some design looks from: VW (which by the way, I also like)

I thought the E70 was growing on me, until the other night when I saw one pull into a parking lot and it looked exactly like a X3, not that there is anything wrong with the X3, it's just not distinguishable enough

SO many threads on this. You know its a problem. Too much X3 for me. The sides have too much pepper in them too.

For me it certainly is not E70 envy. I would not trade you my 02 4.6 for a new E70 4.8... Nope, no way.

Now if BMW came out with a 500hp M X5 I might begin to like the looks a bit! Just like the ML 63... I do not like the looks of the Mercedes but there is a certain alure of 500hp under the hood!! Amazing the sway a hell of a lot of horsepower can have!!!!
