Bad Smell Coming out of the Air Con

Well, i have a bad smell in my car lol. When i have the cooling on i can not smell the smell but when i turn off the Cooling (snowflake button) i get this yucky smell. The smell lasts for about 5-10 mins then it seems to go away or my nose is getting used to it. What do you think the smell is coming from or do all cars get it?

Yes when i got the car serviced at the stealers they gave the recipt and it said microfilters changed. But i dont think they did. They also said wipers changed and they where still the old wipers. With my jag they always say microfilters changed but i got into the filters the otherday and they where in very bad shape.

WM,
They probably gypped you on the microfilter change,
and/or the change stirred up some mold and crud
floating in the system.

I also recall there are two microfilter part #s, and one
is much better than the other...dunno.

It's a pia, but I try to turn off A/C, go to norm vent, crank up
the fan speed a little, and let the outside air run through my
HVAC system for the last couple miles, heading home...it seems
to blow the last remnants of the a/c air out, and I have never
had that "old a/c stale air" smell. Not handy, but maybe a thing
to do when heading for the barn to park it overnight.
