rear wiper arm replacement
(list/my cost) April 2006 I've posted this in a way earlier thread, but with the renewed interest in wipers, I thought I'd repost it. Have a Happy, Healthy, Safe New Year

Hi,
Is this new wiper the "hook" version? I have a 2001 x5 with the "pin" type wiper arm? Will the new wiper arm fit my year? Thanks. |

Yes!! But you can't use your existing rear wiper blade anymore with the new "metal hook" arm. You can get Valeo 18" Ultimate Wiper from TireRack or Bosch ICONs 418A or 418B to fit the rear metal "hook" arm.
To order the Valeo 18" on Tire Rack, you have to "trick" Tire Rack that you have a 2006 X5 (which has the metal rear wiper arm). Quote:

PS the new wiper arm (which has the 'hook' configuration) was purchased from my dealer who installed it with no labor charge (something I doubt the rest of you will achieve). I believe there is a DIY posted somewhere.

Can't remove arm
I've removed the cover and then the bolt but the arm still seems to be attached. Is there anything else I need to do? 2002 model. Or do I just need to use more force?
