BMW Extended Warrant and Maintenance - NEW PRICING

You guys make me nervous w/ all this talk of Extended Warranties. Are the X's that unreliable?

Are you insuring the tranny/engine/etc so you ca run it into the ground and have the warranty co. pick up the tab?

I recently purchased my '04 X5 which was coming off a 3 year lease. The dealer quoted $2500.00 to CPO and extend the warranty out to 6yrs 100K miles(which I did). The same warranty on a non-CPO vehicle would have cost $3800.00 according to the dealer. As for the maintenance plan, I was quoted $1400.00 and may consider it when my X5 gets closer to the end of the factory 4yr 50K maintence plan. I believe you can purchase the extended maintenance plan as long as you're still under the 4yr 50K mile factory warrantly.

thats correct. the price is highly negotiable so get quotes from 5-6 dealers.
