Small question - BMW radio service menu

Hello everyone

First i'd like to thank everyone, for making this such a great forum.

And sorry for my bad english..... I'm from Denmark

Well.......
I was checking out my Service menu, in my radio mounted in my X5 4,4i 2002. (16:9 screen with MK4 nav.)

Can anyone please tell me what GAL means? I am able to change the setting from mode 1 to 6, but don't know what it means.!

Thanks again

......Allan
