Angry Dead X5??????

Hello again everyone!!!

I woke up this morning and I tried to start my X5 but the car was dead!
Nothing works in the car. No lights, no keys, no navi, nothing! The only thing I see is on the left side of the cluster, I see the oil indicator, and on the right side of the cluster I see the air bag light on. There is no clicking noise when I turn the key. Its seems there is no power running through the car. Can someone give me an idea of what this might be? I can use all the help I can get. This is a 01 X5, with 82k on it. Sport Package. The car was working just fine yesturday. Never had an issue with this car ever, only reg. maintainance. I do still have the ext. warrenty. Please help. Thanks....

Ah, dead batt?
An '01 with 82 on the clock is pushing
the edge if the batt is orig. and, maybe
pushing a replacment if it wasn't maintained.
Ext Warr. isn't going to cover that batt., imo.

B'Dude,
I don't know it is or, just is the Batt., but it's one
of the first places I would look based on your
symptoms. There is a link, found on this site's
Home Page that shows a batt. replacement DIY
and some other info. It isn't difficult but not
handy. I'd pass on a Stlr batt: a real rip, price-wise.

There are some very good wrenches on this board, too;
they may have some add'l opins and things to check.
It's Sunday eve: this isn't 911, so be patient, for more
responses/ideas.

Thanks, I'll just do that. I'm going to try jumping tomorrow morning and see if that works. If not I'm going to tow the X5 to the stlr for a more in depth look.

Yep, seems like dead battery.
I had to change mine few months ago but I had some symptoms before and knew that it's going bad. When it was finally over, I didn't have anything, or maybe some weak lights on dash, radio was silent and so was the start motor, so battery was completely dead.
Then I just bought a new one, installed it and everything worked fine.
