Hitting unlock 2 times sometimes adjusts side mirrors?

Has this ever happened to anyone else? It's a real pain in the a$$. So when I try to unlock all of the doors by hitting the unlock button 2 times fast on the key sometimes the mirrors all adjust downward toward the car. Am I doing something wrong? TIA

Something very odd about this. I'd take it in.

Something like that, but they angle in towards the car and downward. Sometimes both, sometimes only one side, very strange. Should I take in and have the electrical checked? Thanks.

Sounds like the wiring is crossed between the locking circuitry and mirror control circuitry. This is not a problem that I've ever seen described here.

Yeah, I don't understand it. Happens about 1-2 times per week. I have the extended warranty which covers all electrical, so I'll just send it to the stealers.

I have the same issue. Someone else posted about this a while back but I don't think anyone figured it out so I will be interested to hear what you find out.

here is the previous thread.

What year X5??

If you find the mirrors are out of position when you get into the vehicle, it maybe the memory modules that remember seat, mirror, wheel positions are going bad. My 2001 sometimes experiences this. Since these modules cost about $250.00, I live with just re-positioning the mirrors myself. There are 2 of these, one each for left & right sides and are underneath the front seats.

Just my guess on what you are experiencing.
