One of my colleagues at work transferred in from another part of the country. He drove his car (registered in Georgia) for nearly half a year in Cali before going to the DMV. He paid $800 for his registration for a 3 year old Mercedes which probably should have been around $400 had he paid on time.

Check out the DMV website. Make sure you cover these details with your buyer so there's no surprises.

I am not sure I understand. IF he has residence in the state of Colorado and has a Colorado license, then why does he have to register the car to the state of California?

Dr. Jay - My rims were $75 a rim to powdercoat and they are the glossy black. I was also given a lifetime warranty on chips and other problems. So far, I really haven't had any chips or deterioration, my biggest problem is keeping them shiny, just like any other rim.

X54.4blue - My reserve is set at $38,000. I figured if I can't get the money I want for the X5, then there's no reason for me to sell it. So if it doesn't sell, then it doesn't sell. this was basically a way for me to have a win-win situation. If I sold the X5 and got a new car, that was a perfectly acceptable situation for me. However, if the X5 didn't sell, then I get to keep one of the best machines ever made. I couldn't go wrong!

DriverX5 - I didn't put the resonator back on for the sale. At the bottom of the listing I said I still had all the parts. So whoever is looking to buy this X5 would be able to put the resonator back on if they wanted to.

Four hours left...Here comes the exciting part. I think I'm in the midst of changing my mind on a future car though, I found a great 540i that's a manual V8 and it's red. Anyone have an opinion on those?

Nope, didn't get the price I wanted so for now I'm sticking with my X5. Keeping my options open though so we'll see soon enough. I'll keep this thread open as soon as something changes.
