:xoutpost: and congrat on your new ride. I agree that retrofiting the nav and DSP is not worth the effort and money. Going to an after market unit like the like the AVIC-Z1 and a good set of speakers is a better approach. I would not let Circuit City do any work on my X5.

I think you have high OBC, its hard to tell by the pics, but you can tell by the gauge cluster, it has a wider info screen. Put your key in the ignition, if words appear in your cluster you have high obc.

Your car has OBC.

Left of the MID screen
[AUDIO_]
[TEL__P]
[O__ BC] = high OBC

P = phone icon
O = clock icon

I am basically in the same position as you are with my 2000 X5.

I am looking for a DVD and NAV unit that I can have that I can play movies while moving. I know , I know. It's not safe and no manufactures make them like that. But Pioneer has come up with the gyro sensor in them now to really throw a wrench in that.

Does the Z1, or the D3 have that sensor? Do you guys no what I'm talking about?

Hit me up with a message cause I want to be done with this decision so I can buy a unit.

Thanks Greg
