I don't think tear gas will make it run any better, and the driver may not be able to see the road clearly, which sounds dangerous. On the other hand, using Top Tier gas isn't a bad idea.

Top Tier is in no way a quality standard, though. It is targeted solely at reducing deposit formation, a problem that hasn't really been evident for some years now.

Hehe, well it is worth noting too that the Tiger in my tank at 93 octane does not perform as well in mpg terms as Costco does at 91 octane!

I've always thought my mileage goes down in the summer. Atlanta is forced to use a special blend of gas during that time to keep the smog at a level that kills you a bit slower.

EDIT:
Well after a little digging around, it seems that the summer blend should be more efficient. I dunno-maybe I just take more unnecessary short trips during the summer.
