does your gas mileage decrease in the winter?

hi i got the x5 in sept 06 and i was able to run about 750-800kms per tank (93 liters) however now in the winter i get about 650-700kms per tank. i think my driving style hasnt really changed that much.

i suspect its the cold weather here in canada.
does your mileage go down as well in the winter? thnx

good question. in the cold gas condenses right? maybe your car uses more when it's cold because it's more dense.

or it's maybe you have your heat on...

In Las vegas during the summer, I run the A/C all the time. In winter I don't. I get better gas mileage in the winter.

My mileage goes up. not sure why. I think it's the colder (denser) air. ?

Mine goes up because I have to drive slower in the snow.

I will only run the heat when the car has been sitting outside for a while and it is cold. Usually I run the fan at 72 with three dots. No A/C.
