4.6 or 4.8 Cluster? Retrofit???

Hello again everyone, I was wondering if I can change my exicting instrument cluster with a 4.6 or 4.8 cluster??? Has anybody done this before? Can it be done? Do I need to re-program the computer? Thanks...

A question asked many time...

mileage is an issue...you'll get that tampering indicator. so you have to take that to the dealer.

and the oil temperature and the RPM indicators will not function.

You have an 01? That I'm not sure.... the difference is only limited to a different DSC icon, and a 6th gear indicator in manual mode, but i doubt anything would malfunction.

what's wrong with your current one?

Nothin really, just the common pixel problem. In two little spots I see pixels that have burned out. I hate to see this but its really not that bad. I'm just curious thats all. I still have a ext. warranty which does handle this part. I thought maybe I can get those silver inserts that fill in the cluster.
