Powder Coat Information

Just in case anyone is curious, I've had my original rims powder coated glossy black for the last six months or so. However, in lieu of my recent activity with my X5, I'm now in the process of stripping the powder coat and adding the traditional BMW color back to the rims.

So, the original cost for all four rims to be powder coated - $300.00

The cost of having the rims chemically stripped of their powder coat - $350.00

New cost of adding the BMW original color back on the rims - $300.00

Deal they're giving me on tinting my 540i all around with 15-20% tint - $50.00

Overall cost of powder coating the rims and removing and then powder coating again - $950.00

Worth the mod? Not at all, first time I've felt like a mod for a car was completely worthless, although it did look awesome for the time being...

Just thought I'd share

Thanks for the info bro. What's the "name" of the BMW colored powder? I'm planning on getting my 22's powdercoated silver this spring, so i don't have to worry about paint chipping. Thanks bro.

I'm not actually sure what the color is called. I just dropped my X5 off and let them have their way with it. So we'll see. When I pick it up later in the week I'll send you a PM and let you know.
