B]Exhaust poll - Quad pipe or Rectangular for 4,8?[/B]

I am thinking about investing into an exhaust system and can't quite figure out whether to go quad tips or to stay with the rectangular style. What do you guys think? Also, are there any brands that you guys recommend from experience? Supersprint? Eissenman? Remus? Thanks

Stick with square tips or better yet stick with your original tips. I haven't heard the 4.8 exhaust note in person yet but it's supposed to be awesome. But if you want to change then get the Eisenmann (Racing) w/o tips and weld on your 4.8 tips.

Eisenmann

rectangular, as it was stock. That is a nice litte addition that makes the X5 4.8 stick out. If you throw 4's on there it will look like a 4.4 trying to be a 4.8

The 4.6 note sounded nice, I can't imagine what the 4.8 sounds like. I'll never forget when a 4.6 tore out of a gas station and I was like Then I tore out behind them and was like

Like everyone said... keep the stock rectangular tips

I test drove the 4.8iS last fall and I am going to tell that the 4.8iS exhaust sound is much more aggressive and deeper than the 4.6iS hands down. You can hear it inside car and definitely outside the car. The best part is when you first start the 4.8iS....nice deep rumble!! Go the dealer and hear one yourself!! The 4-corner air suspension (height adjustable suspension is standard in the 4.8) is great in the 4.8iS and it rides and handles better than a non-height adjustable air suspensioned 4.4i or 3.0i with sports package.

call up john @ eisenhaus and tell him you want race exhaust for your 4.8 without tip then keep the tips from your oem 4.8 and weld them back onto the eisenmann (their tips are smaller). that would be sick!

We had that same debate over on bm3w.co.uk when John Thorne of Thorney Motorsport developed his Milltek system for the 4.8is. The conclusion was clear, go with the rectangular tips.

That is what I thought everyone would say. I guess I just needed a second opinion. Lol...But does anyone know what the eissenman exhaust sounds like compared to the stock 4.8is? Or the Milltek for that matter? Thanks for your input guys
