I'm sorry to hear that... I'm pretty happy with Patrick so far. Lets see what will happen. I would love my car at my personal Mechanic, but he is just too far to tow the car. Plus, I have purchase this darn extanded warranty, why not use all that I can. FYI to anyone that wants to believe me. Don't every buy an extanded warranty from a 3rd party if it is not BMW then don't buy it. These guys that I have "Easy Care" They try sooo hard to not pay for as much stuff as possible. Last time I changed my Valley pan and I had to change the vapor hoses too, my warranty covered everything except the vapor hoses which cost only 20 bucks a pop because they said that the hoses are not part of there coverage???? What a bunch of penny pinchers. Told them to change whatever they have to and I'll pay the F&#$$#@# extra's!!!!!

Just had the same problem, (2000 X5, 78k miles), SES light blinked and stayed on, fortunately i was about half a block from home. I rolled the X in the garaage, and when i popped the hood, there was a little smoke. I let it cool down and when i checked in the morning there was a big puddle of oil under the front passenger side. I am about to get it towed to the stealer. . . just wondering if anyone had any updates on what to expect??

A possibility on the v8 is a leak from the oil breather lines at the rear of the engine. I had this problem recently fixed under guaranty and I know at least someone else who had the same problem with a 740.

Can't forget about the breather. My dealer told me that among the 50 vehicles that were towed-in in the last 3 days, it was a mixture of these two problems.

Good to hear that you had a good service experience at Patrick. I buy at Patrick and service at Fields, and it works out, but it's nice to hear that Patrick will do an equally good job if I'm near them.
Glad to hear the issue is resolved.

Well lets knock on wood here, because I spoke to the service guy last night and he said that it would be done today, I'll let everybody know later on today if I'm truly getting it back. So far so good....

Ok update!!!!, I'm getting the car back tomorrow mid day.... I'm paying about 400 plus oil change which is about 85, so a total of 485 bucks because my warranty won't cover the left side valve cover, which is spilling from what the guy said over at Patrick a lot of oil when its running, he said its shot and needs to be changed asap. The reason for this is not because the warranty doesn't want to cover, its my original dealer where I bought the car from never changed the valve cover when they were supposed to. So now I have to pay for this and go to my original place and have them reimburse me my money. In a way I new this would happen, I just don't even want to deal with these guy's... They have no customer service what so ever....
