Desperately need parts help!!!

Hello!

My 2002 X5 3.0i has a split valve cover, which spewed oil all over the place leaving me stranded on the highway. My dealership is telling me that the parts needed to fix this issue are on backorder. I need 4 parts, and one of them is backordered until 3/5/07. Needless to say, I cannot wait that long and need to find a solution.

Here are the part numbers I need along with their backorder dates I was given from my dealership.

11 61 7534 237 - backordered until 2/15
11 43 7563 831 - backordered until 2/21
11 15 7532 628 - backordered until 3/5
11 12 7512 839 - backordered until 2/16

If anyone can help I would seriously appreciate it! If you work at a dealer that has these parts, please email me so my dealer can contact you for shipment. If you know of an online parts dealer that deals OEM parts, please email me the web address so I can get my parts department guy on the phone with BMW to see if they will accept those parts under the CPO warranty, which is paying for these parts.

Sorry for the long rant - I am just really in need here.

Thanks-
Brice Phillips

I wonder why your dealer doesn't do this for you? Your "rant" is understandable.

Try here http://www.crevierbmw.com/parts_center.htm

Tell them you are from the X5 internet board, you should get a discount for it being an internet sale. I have purchased a lot of stuff from these guys and their pricing is usually very good. Not to mention, they are one of the largest dealers in the country, so better chance of having your stuff in stock.

Good Luck

Yeah, I wonder why my dealer isn't trying a little harder for me considering I have bought 6 cars from them in 7 years.

I have a message in to Art at Crevier. Thanks for the lead!

Please keep the suggestions coming - I need all the ammo I can get.

And to answer one reply regarding a junk yard - this is a CPO deal so the parts need to be authorized by BMW before they'll cover under CPO. I don't want to be out of pocket on anything on the list. I am simply trying to quicken this process.

Still bummed out by my dealer...

I tried Morristown, and they have it backordered (3 of them actually), so they are unable to get me a part. He did do a local dealer search to MD and let me know that 4 local(ish) dealers have a quantity of 1 listed as available, so I plan on calling them myself. My dealer said he did this already for me, so I am not really sure if this is the truth if each of these dealerships are saying 1 available.

Im sure the dealer checked all the other dealerships for you.

I would call around myself to make sure. The dealer probably does not want you to purchase parts from anyone else. They lose money.
