Individual key/memory seat/mirrors not programmed or not working?

So I had each individual key set to their respective settings for driver's seat, mirrors, and doors unlocked. While the locking is working (one door for key#2, all doors for #1), the seat and mirrors are not automatically going to their spots. Did this change in BMW land or did they not get programmed correctly?

My '01540 used to do this and I can't believe that I have to hit the button each time I wish the seat and mirrors to change.

sometimes it does happen...what happens if you press the unlock a second time?

I tried that too to no avail. Neither key will go to its respective memory setting, only the door locks follow the key. The dealer charged me $55 for this too!

They also charged me $199 to fix a barely curbed rim. I'm all about convenience for having them do it and marking it up say 20%, but I KNOW that curbed rim repair is on the order of $75. I won't do that again.

the car comes standard with individual memory for each key...i don't see why they charged you, unless...are you out of warranty?

that's what I thought. I purchased the vehicle at a different dealership, then went to another to get an oil leak fixed under warranty. I was surprised that they charged me for the key settings as I can't imagine that taking anything more than 10mins?

Programming keys is NOT a warranty item, but a "convenience" one. The dealer is only obligated to provide you with ONE freebie, if you bought the car from them. Whether a dealer would charge you for the programming after that depends all on the particular dealer, so work up a good relationship with yours and may be they will forgo the ~$50 programming fee.

Yes, I agree with that as well. At least they could have confirmed that the seats/mirrors go to their respective spots though. That I'm a bit disappointed in.
