Hello all! New member question

Hello to all. New 06 X5 owner here. Fantastic vehicle, but I do have a few questions.

1) When using the Instrument Panel Dimming knob, does it dim everything including the gear indicator light? Mine dims evrything but the P, R, N D letters on the dash.

2) Mine recently lost the Time and Date for no reason - I was able to reset it without a problem, but I was wondering if this happens from time to time?

3) Lastly, is your center temp control knob (the one on the dash in the middle) tight or does "feel" loose? Mine works; it just feels a little loose. I really dont' want to take it to the Dealer and have them take the dash apart.

Only other issue was the dreaded SES light at 2880 miles. Dealer reset it and said it was the gas cap. Seems strange since I paid particular attention to the cap every time I gassed up. Tiem will tell.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

cannot recall if it does change the PRND.....strange...i think it does...

the time should not reset unless your battery was disconnected

by the knob, i'm taking that you mean the one with the levels of dots...mine are pretty firm...you may want to check it

the only way to reset the SES light if it's for the gas cap is to tighten the gas cap...not sure what your dealer did...

and

I lost the time once and it indicated that the battery was going bad. At some stage it drops below the requirements to hold the clock info.
