@lamby that's very interesting info. When my wife's airbag light comes on in regard to passenger seat occupied I have noticed it's more likely to come on if somebody is in the seat than not but always when cold out. I think it's a connector or a broken wire (when cold shrinks and opens connection).
Not in x5 but in other cars I have been forced to buckle in big boxes because the seat belt alarm came on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Entered the VIN for my 2006 3.0i and it doesn’t show any open recalls?

We got recall letters for both of our '06 3.0i's. Not sure why that's not working. Recommend you contact a local dealer.
