Headlights: Projector Headlamps - Fit?

I have 2001 non-xenon headlights.

If I purchase this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-X5-E53-XENON...em230089149729

Can I simply open up my headlights and put these in?

Of course I would still have to buy the other stuff, but this would save me a lot of money.

From what I understand, you cannot just put projectors in the halogen enclosures. I haven't actually taken mine apart, but from what I've noticed, the HID enclosures have a small rim around the projectors where as the halogens have a solid internal lense covering the bulb.

OEM HID

Halogen - its hard to see, but you'll notice the difference in the enclosure configurations.

Hope I'm right and that this helps...

Good info, if I understand correctly. When you say lense, you're talking about the glass/plastic piece inside the clear enclosure covering the actual bulb? Can the insert used in the OEM HID setups be purchased and installed after the full lense is removed? I did a search and found a few threads talking about removing the lense, but I dont like the look of just the projector as pictured in some of the posts, looks a lot like the ebay products and a little to ricey for me.

I've seen the X5 xenon lenses on eBay too.

There is also a seller on there with the MTEC brand of Xenon retrofit. I've e-mailed with him and he indicates that his kit has everything you need. This is what he said...
"Hi,

Yes, it will fit.

You don't need to purchase anything else. You only need to purchase this kit. You don't need to purchase reflector light or other stuffs.

thank you."

Here is the link to the MTEC lights.

I'm on the fence about doing it - I don't want to put them i n and then blind everyone because there are no projectors.
