Question Bilstein shocks question

Hello,

I've checked Bilstein.com and found that they don't have any shocks for X5 with self-leveling system.
however I got this email from Bavauto and wanted to double check it before I move.

Thank you for your inquiry.

The shocks shouldn’t be a problem in the front of the vehicle. The rear shocks on cars with the leveling feature are valved much softer because the air spring does most of the work for the back. Installing bilsteins in the rear would make the ride very harsh.

Ken Brown
did anyone install Bilstein shocks here with self-leveling system?
is it ok to change/installl front shocks only?

Thank you!

Are you sure? I always thought BOGE was the OE supplier for BMW shocks..

That is a good question, one that I have certainly wondered about. I know that www.shox.com shows Bistein's all the way around from $649, but they don't say much about the autoleveling.
