May end up selling my X5
I'm exhausted, I think yesterday's stall on the road was the final straw for me with this car. I was driving uphill and then suddenly my car gave out, standstill on top of the hill blocking all traffic...turns out I need a new transfer case and driveshaft which will run me a good $3k. Just last month I spent $2k on new control arms, cv boots(2nd time in 1 yr), brakepads(2nd in 1 yr), my coolant was leaking...now I'm told soon I'll need new rotors which I replaced a year ago as well. The list goes on...question is how much longer until my tranny blows out...w. my luck I wouldn't be surprised
It's been a great run tho, enjoyed my X5 and my first BMW, but I've had it with BMW's (or maybe it's just my car). I guess not purchasing the extended warranty was crucial but the quarterly/yearly maintenance on this car has just been a joke...and what's funny is all the shops I've been to, including dealerships tell me it's normal yearly maintenance costs for BMW's. Also speaking with the guy from AAA..he said BMW's are the most frequent cars they pickup to tow due to failure (at least here in CA)..which I'm actually not surprised...my whole family + my gf has BMW's and the maintenance is higher than a supermodels (not that ive dated one)... I guess I'm just ranting here, I'll more then likely end up selling my car after the repairs are done, I was eyeing at the 3 series coupe but I may look for another manufacturer.
