That's cold! We get close to that once or twice a winter here but it's never sustained.

Almost balmy out today...eh?

Yeah, everyone thinks it's impossible to survive cold temps like that, but they also seem to think we stand out in cold for hours at a time when it's -40 C or -40 F... Hell, I go from a heated house to a heated garage to a heated X5 to heated underground parking to my heated office (where I make sure I've got a nice hot Starbucks latte). The only time I feel the cold is when I open the car window to swipe my security pass!!

You got that right! The longest you have to be outside is the walk from the parking lot into the grocery store. Although I do feel just a little bit sorry for my friends without heated garages. When its this cold, they have to freeze their azz off in the morning to go start their truck and let it warm up for 20-30 minutes. And the seats are still cold when they get in! But if the weather was nice here in the winter, it would be looking like California and my house would have cost me $1.3 million.

Yikes, we haven't even matched that with the wind chill.

Btw, it's pretty cool that your drl's are on with your parking and fog lights. How does that work?

What are you talking about? I've been here for a decade and it's never come close. Now Winnipeg is a different story. I lived there for a bit, and one day I was driving outside the city and watching the thermometer go down, down, down.... until it hit -50, then it went blank!!!!
