Best SF/Bay Area Tire/Alignment shops??

Ok it's time for new shoes for my X5 (24888 miles) I brought tires thru tire rack and now need a good shop that can install and give me a excellent alignment (so this time maybe I can get 40,000 mile on a set.
Thanks Ed

What i do is ask the dealer. I would like to believe that whoever does it for them should meet BMW specs. (If there is such a thing). What's your location?

they are horrible.. I won't touch them with a 10ft pole and that's ALL the wheelworks.

Depends on what type of alignment.. Are you looking to corner weight, laser alignment, full balance with no wheel weights (or very few) or just your typical alignment? The top shop in the bay area for the REAL alignments is Performance Art in Gilroy (state of the art $50K of laser alignment machine and full touchless wheelmounting and balance - meaning no prybars or anything). These guys mainly service Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, and the race Porsches. It's very expensive though but you get what you pay for. The alignment expert there used to be from Rennwerks in Mountain View. Very knowledgeable.
