Need advice on removing tailgate trim
I've manged to remove the screws underneath the black tailgate *flap* in addition to the screws on the corresponding trim piece when you lift the trunk floor panel. I see how the trim interlocks with the weatherstripping, but regardless the trim is not budging. Any ideas fellas ? |

remove the reflectors...
...that are on the top edge of the lower gate. remove the screws underneath those, also remove the little 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch black tab (there's a slot for a small flat-blade screw driver)...remove those screws as well...top piece will lift off, allowing the entire removal of the trim....

Sorry if I was not clear. It is the lower part of the tailgate that is next to the trunk panel. It is the trim piece on the edge of the back end of the trunk panel that also serves as the *flip up* black piece of the lower tailgate itself.
