I always wonder when I see a Hummer: Why would someone waste so much money on a Hummer? Would like to hear what is so good about it.

so how does it park...

Where I live these were all the rage with trophy wives and it was fun watching them trying to park at the grocery store. This may not be an issue where you live but they had to circle the parking lot waiting for an end spot to open up as they couldn't get them between two park cars.
A couple of my neighbors have these and like their bigness.

I can't say "they suck". I don't own one and have never had a ride in one either. But honestly before you go you have got to explain the attraction. I don't get it.

I cant really explain, but I will try.
1st off I always wanted one, since before the H2 came out. THen when the H2 came I I liked it. I guess its a to each his own kinda thing.
I actually picked one up the other day and drive it around for a day to make sure I liked it, and I did, so yeasterday I went and got the one I posted a pic of and I have it for the weekend, have not actually bougth it, but I plan to.
I live in the country somewhat and factors that make me want the H2 and give up the X are as follws.
wife doesnt like the x because of the ride, and I kinda agree. The rid ein the X is very crappy on the roads that go to my house. with the 4.8 sus, and tires etc, it jsut plan sucks, my wife HATES it she gets sick driving down the crappy bumpy road. I understand cuase I dotn like it either. maybe its just this one, but I think its jsut cause its the 4.8. I love drivieing it on curvy roads etc etc, but its jstu not practical(not like the H2 is though).
I tow boat camper and dirt bikes as I posted in here once before and it jsut doesnt work out well with the X(well to me). I have two big dogs, and three kids, that constantyl dirty up the interior, and I dont like it. its to nice of a vehicle.
I want to go do realy offroading.
those are the main reasons.
now on the the H2;
THe h2 drives nothing like it looks, my wife could not belive it. she drove it last night and she was liek this thing is nice. it doesnt drive like I thought it would for a big truck. I said yeah its pretty decent. so far she likes it.
lets see what else I can say. I am worried becasue this will be the first american car I ever bought, and I am sure to have some american crappiness in it, but I am wiling to try it out for now. in the end if I dont like it I will get rid of it too.
btw I was going to get the new tundra and decided on this instead, and the wife is going to trade her van in for a tundra in a couple years, so we will see how the H2 thing works out.
oh yeah one more thing the H2 gets that belive it or not is a big decision is that my kids absolutly love it , they think its the coolest thing. as a matter af act I was telling my wife about them saying can you bring us to school in the hummer, and she was like dont they know that your x is a big nice expensive vehicle? I was like I guess but its not a hummer, its jsut cool for the kids I guess.
I do know that I will probably miss my x but oh well. oh yeah and going form 15 mpg to 12 is not that big a deal, so about the gas issue, its a nonissue. I hope this cleared some things up, trust me I still love bmw and the X it just doesnt suite me anymore out hur in da coontry

I am sure the bad ride on your rough roads in 4.8is has to do with 20" performance wheels which are not meant for off-roading. Switching wheels to smaller size would have fixed the ride quality. Good luck with H2.

yes that is what I was saying the wheels and suspendion on the 4.8 but that is one reason, not the only reason.
yeah I thought about getting a dump truck instead.
Main reason is in the link on the first post.
