JV,

I'm glad to hear that everything worked out!! Now put that MkIII up for sale on eBay and pick yourself up a MkIV

Yeah, Jeff, I'm definitely 'bit' by the upgrade bug now. Thinking I'll go 16:9, MkIV, TV on NAV, rear view camera& headrest screens when the weather warms up enough around here to not freeze my arse off whilst attempting such work. I prefer to do the functional mods before the cosmetics. With the new articles section to guide me, I can do just about all the work myself.

I get a all around from the friends and family about the v23 software, and the Nav voice is ever a bit less "robotic" which is nice.

Damn,

i tried to update a MKIII in a friends 330Ci. I used the same V27.1 CD I have updated some MKIV! The MKIII recognized the Software CD, then blanked the screen and stoped. After about 30 minutes i ejected the cd and now the display is in a strange colur and only TV and bordcomputer options are there Whe I insert the CD again nothing happens

Any ideas!I wish I had refused to update that old peace of navigation ....

Try downgrading to v22 and let us know what happens.

Boah,

I downloaded a Clone CD image of V22 and burned it on 1x speed Then I went to the car and put it on ignition. Crossing my fingers I inserted the newly burned V22 CD and waited. The CD got in, spined around maybe a minute then it jumped out and went in again. During that time the display was just showing like playing the radio. Sudenly after the CD went in again automatically i saw the well known update screen. It took longer then i was used (but I have never updated V17 to V22 before) to and stayed a while at 99%! Then it jumped out I made the restart and there it was the so long awaited insert key cd message. Inserted the key cd and voila the job was done I think I will never ever try to update a MKIII. THe next step will be to upgrade the screen to 16:9

Thanks guys
TImiboy

Some people would disagree with me, but I've done the same thing on a couple friends' BMWs with MkIII and it never works to upgrade to v26 or v27. I always end up having to put v22 or v23 in there to make the Nav work again.

Glad it's at least working for you again

Talking

It's funny since the V26 and V27 CD's contain the same for the MKIII. It might be due to the fact that the V26 and V27 images I have must be burned with Alcohol 120% and the lower versions are Clone CD images. That is the biggest difference in my opinion

anyone know where I can find a v22 or v23. I have had it with the v28, cannot get it to load.

While I wait to pull the trigger on the mk4 stuff (doing so this week, but who knows when it will all get here and installed) I would love to have the latest updates.

thanks
brad

Why not v27 for your MKIII? If you can't get it to load - I have a pre-burned CD you can use.
