Creaking from the rear??

Hi,
I have been getting a creaking noise from the rear of the car , it seems to coming from around the spare wheel housing especially when turning corners. Could this be suspension??

It is a 2001 4.4 sport

Spare is not sitting tight, hatch bumper pad needs to ne adjusted ... etc. I would adjust the bumper.

I had the same problem with the 03 X5 I bought a week ago. The dealer had to reseat the hatch bumper pads, and now the noise is gone. They did offer to also replace the struts on the rear hatch, saying that these can become dried out and also cause a squeak.
