Sure, you can replace the sensors yourself. You'll have to take the wheel off to get to install. One on the front and one on the rear. Pads aren't too hard to do yourself but it is a bit more advanced. Oil changes are easy.

Can't comment on the cost...depends on their hourly rate. Should have taken them 2 hours max to do 4 sets of pads and an oil change.
