2001 X5 3.0 Transmission Failure at 100K
Anyone out there have a failure at 100K on an 3.0 auto tranny?

The dealer says the transmission codes indicate that the transmission has failed. A local independent shop with a great reputation is looking at it for me. The independent shop suggest that the tranny fluid be replaced at 60K with the synthetic stuff.

$7.5K for a rebuilt tranny from the dealer.
