Looking at an X5 with bad CV Boot = help please
My question is = how long or how bad is it to drive with a torn / leaking cv boot? I obviously don't want to wait long, but it will need to be replaced. What happens if you drive for a while on it? Thanks in advance |

The tech said the left front was broken leaking grease. Don't know if it is the boot or the cover. If it's the boot, how bad and how long do I have?
I got 750 bucks off of the price for it. Thanks for the help |

Is there a way to tell if the joint is bad?
Thanks |

turn wheels all the way to the left or right, and start driving if u hear clicking noise , joints are bad.

Thanks for the tip. Do the joints go bad over time, or do they go bad as a result of torn covers, resulting in dirt and crud getting in there?
Thanks again. |

I was able to salvage one of my half shafts because I was able to catch it early enough. So yes, the earlier the better.
