The dealer dit it for me, took them only an hour and a half, including the lowering via DIS.

looks great! why did u lower the back via dis? doesnt the eibach come with the rear endlinks in the kit? Whats invlolved in shortning the bumpstops? what happens if you dont...

OEM BMW, but they were offered for a while in the X5 Individual Maritime Edition. I was surprised to get them ordered, since normally they don't sell individual stuff to none individual car owners.

1. Eibach indeed does not offer endlinks. But lowering via DIS is easy as well. No need to get your hands dirty

2. The bumpstops are a cilinder-shaped kind of bushing sitting atop your shock. They are appr 4 inch tall. When you cut off 1 inch, the shock is not depressed 1 inch because of the lower (shorter) springs. Hence the shock retains its original damping level. If you do not shorten them, nothing bad happens The car will be just a tad harsher, that's all.

I don't understand how cutting the bump stops would make a difference in how the car rides at all. Your car shouldn't be hitting he bump stops except for the most extreme conditions. Having said that, I'm no suspension expert, there's a good chance I'm missing something here...
