Need help with Heated Steering Wheel Issue

I have a 06 X5 that originally came without the heated steering wheel. I had the dealer install the wheel and they are coming back to me saying that the steering wheel heated option is not working. They installed the relay and all the other OEM wiring was already inplace, so they are confused with why it wont work. They are suggesting that maybe there is a seperate controller for th esteering wheel that is nit in place. Does this make any sense?
Can anyone help me with suggestions as to why this would not work if all items are installed correctly?? Is something missing?

Did they install a new steering wheel slip ring ?

Having done the retro myself there is no reason why it should not be working if they connected everything as required. The controller for the HSW is on the wheel itsself.

Coffeeman, Where does the slip ring belong, what is its purpose? I assume they had everything they needed behind the steering wheel to plug in the wiring that controls the heated wheel.

Aside from the obvious wire connections, are there any fuses, or relays that they need to check? This dosn't need to be coded, does it?

The slip ring needs to be changed or they cannot plug in the 2 wire harness for the heater. There should be a fuse at position 29 and a green relay installed. No reprogram required. The dealer should be able to do this as we owners worked it out a long time ago!

What would cause Fuse 29 to not show any power with the ignition switch on in the #2 position, the run position? I pulled the fuse and checked it and i had nothing on either post for the fuse.

You need the "Green Relay" fitted. It powers the fuse.
