about to do this with my X, i plan to remove the old one and then stick on the new one, possible with some additional double sided molding tape. as far as air bag going off... if it goes off at all by smashing the roundel with a hammer to get it off then its a bad design. and once its stuck i am 100% certain that it will not cause additional damage to "your person" in the event of an airbag deployment.

I recently removed my badge with some needle nose pliers to reveal the plastic surface of the steering wheel underneath. It's not totally flat. There are some plastic veins underneath.

This may make application of a stick on badge difficult, I guess it depends on how thick the double sided tape is.

Can you tell me where you got your stick on badge?

So i removed the Center one and put this guy on.

The new roundel was smaller so there was a gap which i filled in with some black speaker wire. (i removed the copper inside and it tucked right in there)

i just replaced all my badges with the black carbon fiber ones. for the steering wheel i just popped the old one off, trimmed away the ridges and stuck the new one on. worked good.
