did you plug the little vacuum hose running out of the throttlebody to the stock airbox?

Why not get BMW to do a diagnostics, then make your choice before selling your intake kit. If you damaged the MAF and then have to replace a new one anyway, the intake will work just fine.

When you removed the stock system, was there any wiring or small
vacuum hose that did not get replaced? Someone else had this problem.

"That tube is a vacuum hose that goes to a "flap" on the airbox that opens via vacuum pressure when required.

If you disconnect this you should remove the engine cover and put a rubber cap over the spot where the hose connects to on the top of the engine. You can pick them up on the accessories rack at any auto parts store.

If you do not disconnect it, just zip-tying it in place should be fine."

Like this one.

The vacume hose I think that, the head and noncom23 is talking about is not the big pipe you filter, its a very small pipe that runs from the engine to the small flap inside the stock box. If that is disconnected anywhere along your install you must connected it back up. On my DIY mod, I did not touch this item, however you may have diconnected it by accidednt so take a close look. The small pipe is black and blue in color on my X.

MAF sensors are very delicate, the compressed air was not a good idea.
