Radio module ... does that mean I have to upgrade my MID to a newer build?

Make sure it's in USA mode. By default, the radio is not and therefore you won't even see Sirius come up as one of the options. I have an 04 and the OEM Sirius receiver worked fine for me.

Yes, it's in USA mode. I even tried setting it to CANADA and back to USA to see if that would help.
Does anyone know the part numbers that would work or maybe the date codes that work, if there is a cut off point? |

i've also been told that early Sirius receivers were made for specific
applications. basically, they had 2 different receivers, 1 for X5's w/ NAV and the other for X5's w/o NAV.

Hmmm, not sure -- I picked up the same part number as the guy in the one write-up who didn't have the NAV system.
I was able to get rid of the whine by taking a short length of 16-guage speaker wire and ran it from the chassis of the Sirius receiver to an unpainted screw on the main bracket near the CD Changer. (I'm just doing dynamic testing right now to see if it's feasable to move forward.) So NOW my question is ... is there anyone with an 03 or higher X5 with a Business CD, who doesn't care about Sirius or other things like that, who would want to swap Units with me? I'd pay for shipping and all that, you've just have to remove the unit. Anyone? Anyone?
