Replace tape deck behind nav screen

So I just bought my 04 X5 and there is only one prob, the only music I have is radio and the tape deck behind the Nav screen.

Im looking at options... icelink, cd changer etc. But I was wondering if there is anyway to simply have the tape deck switched out for a cd player?

Only other requirment is that the CD can play data mp3's? Any sugestions would be appreciated.

seriously man, ipod+icelink is the best deal, even if your only using an 4gb ipod mini.

I order to remove the tape deck, you must remove the entire head unit. Could be costly. Add a changer or some form of MP3............Phil

The short answer is no, you cannot swap out the tape player for a CD player. Get one of the iPod interfaces and forget about CD's.
