Write up on water pump/ thermostat replacement

Got mine R&R'd today at Stlr...8 days left on my 4 yr/50k Warr. and also, 8 days left on my 1 yr Maint Ext. Whew!

I had been hearing a "chirping noise", almost like a fan belt, upon cold start and a "growling rumble" when idling at fully warmed up. Made an appt., rolled into Fletcher BMW near Asheville and 2 1/2 hrs later I had a "remanufactured" water pump, new belts and new coolant...all on BMW's nickel. Just in under the wire.

Now the coin flip as to whether or not I spring for Warranty Direct's 2 year deal in the next 7 days.
