Looking to pick up an X5

Whats up guys, im new here not new to bimmers though. Recently lost my 3 and now im looking to grab an X series to stay with the family. Ive got a bunch of questions and the search tool didn't really help me all that much.

Anyway im looking for a nice x5 or 3 and i want it stick. Is it only the 3.0s that come in stick? And how are they in stick, im figuring since its a bmw and there trying to one up the porsche cayenne turbo it has to be good.

Ive seen some go for around 12-15 is it possible to snag a nice one for that price, like an 02-03. Im pretty sure the 3.0 is a straight six like the ones in the e46 330s and similiar to the 2.5s in the 325, so that being said if they are the same they ill be able to work on them.

Also i was pretty into modding my last car im fine with being a pioneer but you guys deffinatly have more stuff out there than what im seeing. What are some good sites that cover a bunch of x5 mods and aftermarket parts.
I here you guys talking about 4.6is kits and such but i haven't seen them.

Lastly, this might sound like a stupid question but ive never driven an X5.. yet. What happens when you push an X5 to limit? I know they dont roll, but i wouldn't suspect the designers to let it understeer. It is an SUV though and i keep forgetting that.
