Fuel Gauge malfunction.. BMW are your listening?????
Here is the problem: Filled up my 2005 3.30i (28K mls) when the amber warning light came on. Pulled out of gas station and the fuel gauge was showing less than 1/4 full. Went back and to verify and filled up again. It took less then a gallon. After driving 60 miles the gauge gradually showed the correct reading. I saw several postings on this site on this exact problem dating back as far as 2004. Agreed that this is covered under warranty, but why BMW does not do anything (apperenty!) to fix the faulty design???????? BTW is replacing the fuel sender at the $tealer the only option? |

Faulty design? Built in problems = big repair bills if designed to fail after warranty expires. BMW have had weird fuel guage problems for a very long time. My '73 520 would either stick or the needle would flicker once it got below the half tank!
